Goals of This Study

0

As we go through this study, it’s important for us to keep in mind 4 main goals that we seek to achieve upon completion.

Growth

  • Relationships: Get to know members of the Body of Christ (Church) better.
  • Personal: Discover ways to serve and stretch one another.
  • Spiritual: Deepen your knowledge, faith, and relationship with God.

Understanding

  • To have a clearer view of what the Bible says about Heaven (eternity).

Peace

  • To receive assurance about the hope we have for the life to come, and
  • How that hope allows us to walk with peace through a troubled world.

Perspective

  • To understand what it means to live with an eternal perspective.

Eternal Perspective.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. [20] But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. [21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. [11] Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives [12] as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. [13] But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. [14] So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

2 Peter 3:10-14 NIV

When we consider the fact that this present creation is a temporary one and that our life in the new creation will last for eternity, we have a strong motivation for Godly living and for living in such a way as to store up treasures in Heaven.

The Genius of Generosity

In The Genius of Generosity, we’re going to discover the power, the freedom, and the rewards of developing a generous heart! The Bible teaches us that generosity is the gateway to intimacy with God. As we steward the resources God gives us, we will naturally become more generous with His things, and it pleases Him greatly. We find we are more focused on what is important to our Heavenly Father.
